The Blue Lion — a cosy Bar & Restaurant with a passion for home-cooked food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our small but talented kitchen team lead by Head Chef Harry, prepare every dish fresh, using quality ingredients including local suppliers such as Frank Parker’s Butchers.
Whether you're celebrating something special or just enjoying a relaxed meal, our intimate setting is perfect for any occasion. Friday and Saturday evenings offer a great atmosphere, and our Sunday Lunch is a local favourite.
As we’re a small venue, booking is recommended, but walk-ins are always welcome when we have space!

A DEPOSIT OF £5 PER PERSON IS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING FOR THE FESTIVE MENU. PLEASE NOT THAT ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND WILL BE RETAINED IN THE EVENT OF ANY NO-SHOWS.
ALL MEAL PRE-ORDERS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF BOOKING.
A DISCRTIONARY SERVICE CHARGE OF 5% SHALL BE ADDED TO ALL TABLES OF 10 AND OVER.
Group Booking Policy & Disclaimer
We are a small, independent venue, and we love to host celebrations, family gatherings, and special occasions. To ensure we can offer the best possible service and experience for everyone, we kindly ask guests to note the following:
For bookings of 8 or more guests, we require:
- A £5 deposit per person to secure the table
- A preorder of all meals (starters, mains, and desserts) at least 48 hours in advance
• For bookings of 12 guests or more, we offer a dedicated Set Menu. - PLEASE FIND SET MENU HERE
This set menu is for evening bookings only Tuesday - Saturday which is in place to help our small kitchen team accommodate your party efficiently and ensures timely service for everyone.
